I had an interesting day at school today. In Psych, we talked about why boys typically have sex earlier than girls (answers ranging from it's the "cool" thing to do, hormonal differences, need to be dominant, unconscious desire to reproduce, and the way they were raised). It was fun coming up with those reasons and figuring out ways to test them and in which psychological theory they best fit in. After Psych, I had two hours until my next class, so I just read up on the Spanish conquest of the Aztec empire so I could get a starting point on a conquistador Spain fic that I'm writing.
I never really... realized how long it took for Cortes to conquer the Aztecs. I mean, I just remember from school Cortes came, went to the Aztec city that is hard to remember to spell, Moctezuma was held hostage, he died, Aztecs fought, Aztecs died from small pox, Spanish win. But there is just so much more than that that I really want to do a good job on writing the fic! Also, I want to write Aztec-tan. :|b
My Human Situations classes were amazing! In lecture, the lecturer just went on and on about how Machiavelli failed at organization in The Prince, and in discussion, my teacher went about how Obama should do some of the things that happened in The Prince, like just killing off the extremes of both parties :Db ...alright, he was just joking, but hey, it made the discussion interesting and easy to remember! (X-Men also came into the conversation about how we should show everyone we mean business by nuking Las Vegas or Florida, and the kids that survive will become mutants. I love my teacher so much)
Between my lecture class and discussion class, I had time to eat food, so I got me some Chik-Fil-A! On my way to the library so I may eat my food, I passed by this man that had a sign that said "YOU DESERVE HELL." I lingered by him just so I can figure out what the fuck he was going on about. I heard "ALL MUSLIMS ARE JIHADISTS AND ALL CHRISTIANS ARE EVANGELISTS! BUT IS THAT THE CASE?" I just walked away... OKAY, YEAH, WAY TO MAKE ALL CHRISTIANS LOOK BAD DUDE. Whatever man, I respect your right to say what you want and think what you want, and I understand what he was trying to say, that like all Muslims are not extremists, not all Christians evangelize, even though they should. He just really... went about it the wrong way. An extremely wrong way. But yeah, I just walked away...
Western Civ got more interesting. Now that the whole... theory aspect of history got covered, I'm starting to get more interested in the class. The teacher is still a bit monotonous, but not as bad as before. :|b I also learned that the trend of cooling and warming cycles of our climate coincide with the fall and rise of empires! I... don't know why I never realized this. BAND IS BAND, AND I LOVED IT ♥
